Change is ineveitable

As the leading species of this planet- the supposed masters, it's in our hands (and best interest) to ensure the change is positive.

Algae
LOVES Co2!

Redhawk Power Plant in Arizona has teamed up with a company called GreenFuel Technologies to recover the Co2 emissions from their power plant.

They funnel a portion of the emissions through clear, algae-laced, water-filled tanks. "Algae has essentially one mission in life, eat Co2 and divide." said Ray Hobbs, Sr. Engineer with Arizona Public Service. "They are absolutely ideal to handle our greenhouse emissions. The algae bio-reactor tanks eat the Co2 and grow.

The algae itself is an incredibly complex chemically and bursting with nearly as much energy when harvested, is used to create ethanol, bio-diesel, and with the proteins remaining they produce cattle feed.

Algae has been shown to have a multitude of uses. We can make paper out of it, plastics, even food. "Most of us consume a lot of algae in our food every day without even realizing it." said a representative from GreenFuel.

Capturing a 100 percent of it's emissions a plant will require about two acres of algae per megawatt a large plant like RedHawk would needn over 2,000 acres. It might sound like a lot of space, but just in the United States there are over 1700 power plants with sites large enough to do this., according to a GreenFuel spokesman.

Still in the early stages, this is hopefully a reasonable solution to seriously cutting back on emmisions and make some other green products. Very literally green.

Clean, renewable, profitable. GreenFuel.™

GreenFuel's high yield algae farms recycle carbon dioxide from flue gases to produce biofuels and feed, reducing net carbon dioxide production as waste becomes profit. Harvesting algae for biofuels enhances domestic fuel production while mitigating CO2. Why expensively sequester CO2 when it can be profitably recycled?
